Meet Earth Guardians
Earth Guardians is the organizational plaintiff in the landmark climate lawsuit Juliana v. United States. Their complaint, filed alongside 21 youth plaintiffs from around the country (including Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, who also serves as an advisor, Co-Director of Indigenous Youth Training, and Co-Chair of the board for Earth Guardians), asserts that the government’s affirmative actions that cause climate change have violated their constitutional rights to life, liberty, and property, as well as failed to protect essential public trust resources.
Earth Guardians engages and amplifies the voices of youth as leaders in climate, environmental, and social justice actions around the world. They provide youth leaders with a platform, resources, and collaborative opportunities to create change on issues affecting their global communities through art, music, storytelling, civic engagement, and legal action.
Earth Guardians also helps to mobilize communities in support of Juliana v. United States and other youth-led climate litigation represented or supported by Our Children’s Trust.
