I Stand with the Youth Plaintiffs of Reynolds v. Florida!
In April 2018, eight young Floridians filed a constitutional climate change lawsuit against the State of Florida. The youth plaintiffs of Reynolds v. Florida argue that, by creating and perpetuating an energy system based on fossil fuels, their government is violating their constitutional rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness, as well as harming Florida’s essential public trust resources like beaches and marine life.

By authorizing and prioritizing the use of fossil fuels, the State of Florida is actively contributing to and causing climate change, which directly harms the health of young people like the youth plaintiffs and has led to more extreme weather and climate events in Florida like hurricanes, sea-level rise, harmful algae blooms, and heat waves. Yet, despite knowing there are feasible alternatives for energizing and powering the state, the government of Florida continues to support harmful fossil fuels. Stand with the youth plaintiffs of Reynolds v. Florida today by signing this wall of support and spreading the word!
