The Minnesota Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s dismissal of the case. The panel’s unpublished opinion did not negatively rule on the merits of the case, nor did it address the jurisdictional defenses of the state.

July 18, 2012

Plaintiff Reed Aronow's attorney John Meyer argued today in the Minnesota Court of Appeals, before Judges Terri J. Stoneburner, Kevin G. Ross, and Heidi S. Schellhas, that Minnesota has a public trust duty to protect the atmosphere and other crucial natural resources for present and future generations.

April 2012

The trial court’s decision was appealed to the Minnesota Court of Appeals by plaintiff Reed Aronow, represented by John Meyer with the Cottonwood Law Center.

The Minnesota ATL case was dismissed on extremely narrow grounds in a single-paragraph with little analysis.

July 2011

Motion to dismiss was filed by the state, and OCT partner attorney Jilian Clearman has responded with an opposition to the motion. The hearing is set for October 20th, at 1.30pm.

May 4, 2011

Jilian Clearman, and OCT partner Attorney, filed a lawsuit against the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency on behalf of youth plaintiff Reed Aronow.
